Some people might say that enhanced students are lucky because of their amazing talents which surpass normal human-beings’ ability very easily. Indeed I think having better physical ability and mental ability than someone else is something which people should be proud of. However, one must know that these amazing talents of enhanced students are made by humans, which in another words, one can say that these abilities are created abilities. Personally, I think what makes us humans is that all of us have our own “personal identity” which is created naturally, and even if people don’t have either good physical ability or mental ability, I think people who were born naturally are far more close to actual humans than the enhanced students. So, for that reason, although they have better abilities than the normal humans, I feel sorry for the enhanced students for their “personal identity” being a created one.
I do agree with your idea that "enhanced" students' personal identity is a created one. Furthermore,I assume that their personal identity can be almost non-existent due to the fact that many other "enhanced" students have the same great abilities and there is no originality in having one.
返信削除Yes, so having an artificial identity is not as good as having a natural identity.. I think I agree with that. I think one wants to shape his/her own identity.
返信削除There is much discussion about the loss of the richness of individuality that comes about through the completely unaltered and natural development of the personality. Your concern seems to be shared by many of your classmates.
返信削除I see what you say, and agree that created personal identity seems does not seem so attractive. However, it is true that personal identity has a lot to do with congenital, but also acquired has a huge influence on it. In this way, every personal identity might be said as a created thing.
